Jean Cooke | A Modern Venus

One of only five female artists included in the Original Ruth Borchard Collection, Jean Cook  is a prominent female figure in twentieth-century British Art.

Driven by the compulsion to observe, Cook’s subjects include both portraiture and landscape.

Jean Cooke | A Modern Venus  includes a wide selection of Cooke’s work and provides an insight into her unique perspective on the world around her.

Jean Cooke | A Modern Venus will coincides with Venus Unwrapped, a new season of culture at Kings Place. The exhibition follows the Jerwood Gallery’s major retrospective of the artist’s work, Jean Cooke: Delight in the Thing Seen, which was held in 2017.
