Hannah Webb

The Self Portrait

Born in Cambridge in 1973, Hannah Webb Studied Illustration at the University of Brighton, graduating in 1996. Webb has exhibited her work throughout the U.K. and currently teaches drawing and printmaking at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University and printmaking at the Curwen Print Study Centre at Lincoln. Webb's self-portrait was acquired by Ruth Borchard Collection in 2011.

Webb is particularly interested in reportage drawing, a focus of her teaching at Cambridge School of Art. When Webb is not exhibiting her drawings and prints, she illustrates books for educational publishers.

Webb's self-portrait Short-sighted Astigmatic Bathroom Stupor steps away from the artist's usual printmaking and drawing. Webb is rendered here in oil on flock, gazing glassily into her bathroom mirror.
