Me, Myself, I: Artists’ Self-Portraits explores how artists from 1720 to 2020, have imagined and seen themselves. It will look at how modern and contemporary artists have expanded the genre, questioning identity, gender and place in a colonial and postcolonial world. Curated by Tessa Jackson OBE, the exhibition provides historical context to today's selfie culture. in particular explores the last fifty years and the ways artists have imagined and presented themselves: from the highly personal and psychological to the controversial and political.
Viewing from 2 May - 19 June 2022 the exhibition includes five works from the Ruth Borchard Collection.
