Hannah Murray is an award winning contemporary figurative painter. Born and raised in North London, at age 21, Murray won the Young Artist Award for the National Open Art Exhibition. Since then, Murray has exhibited her work extensively across London and New York, in galleries such as the Mall Galleries, London and the New York Academy of Art, New York. In 2017, Murray was a contestant on Sky Portrait Artist of the Year in 2017 which resulted in her work being exhibited at the prestigious Wallace Collection. A qualified teacher, Murray taught Art at Mill Hill School before being awarded a scholarship to study an MFA in Painting at the New York Academy of Art and subsequently been the recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant for figurative painting and the Leipzip Summer Residency 2021. Murray’s latest work explores the everyday through figures and food. Murray’s masterful brushwork captures the simultaneous delicacy and vibrancy of her subjects.
