The Inbetween brings the viewer to my level on the studio floor, it is a painting full of moments of indecisions ,trying to keep myself grounded. A theme of grounding is seen with the stability of the work boots however my feet are bare, but also the physicality of the tin of ground that sits beside them. The Skull directly opposite on the right works in the narrative of working to live and vice versa. The skull however also relates to the corridor the idea that at anytime the urge to leave everything behind, physically and mentally is ever present. The start of a new painting shows a bit of hope however edged with a waiting foot and as life goes there is always someone waiting to kick you when you are down.
