I wanted to capture the sense of freedom in the demeanor of a city girl absorbed in her own thoughts and concerns, and to contrast her with the natural surroundings of the meadow where she sits. The girl is not dressed for the setting—she wears a tight, elegant dress, yet she sits on the ground, surrounded by simple plants. At first glance, she might seem out of place, almost an intruder. But upon closer inspection, we notice that she has hair on her legs—something considered unacceptable in big cities. Through this, I wanted to express that nature is close to her, that she has not forgotten it, and that she is not ashamed of it.
