The frictions occurring within a disabled body reveal themselves on the facial callus that is “Am I Embodied Now?’. A plaster-cast bust of the artist face was the canvas for this scab-like mask; hands, pulp, face and pencil interact to achieve a topographical imaging of an overflow of excess embodiment building inside the artist. Paper was hand ripped, soaked in warm water and blended into pulp. This warm, mouldable material was then smeared against the plaster doppelgänger, and dried over a two week period. The resulting canvas is then mapped in coloured pencil.
