"The inspiration for this work was a still from the cult classic Trainspotting, as I wanted to embed this self portrait within the British culture and how a reflection of the culture can shape the way we see ourselves. painting the figure in the foreground in a more traditional manor with the reflection and the psyche of myself more abstract and messy, pushing apart the identities one portrays to which one feels.
