An auto-biographical project that began in 2019, the artist repeatedly recorded images of herself, over a 4-year period, lit only by a large wall-mounted mirror. Each time, the mirror light was changed to whatever colour reflected her present mood and experience of the world. The otherworldly hues shown are all true to life.
The project explores identity, noting the disconnect between public and private perceptions of women and of mothers. The act of making these images itself serving as a restorative step, hoping to reclaim space and provoke reflection. The work is presented here as a series of 30 blocks. "
