I aimed to amalgamate perception with reflection; juxtapose the product and the process by inducing a psychosomatic reaction - an uncanny experience of unease and visual strain - that reflected my struggle to create, and my perception of the process, product and myself. This visual collusion reflects the anxiety and emetic values of the gazes within the paintings, playing with the eyes of the viewer and forcing active observation.
In this my work becomes an act of the uncanny, a psychosomatic embodiment."
