An audition speech, mourning the loss of her son Arthur, from Shakespeare’s King John, was a favourite of mine while at drama school in the 80's, which won me through to a young actor’s prize competition at the National Theatre. Although I didn’t win the competition, all was not lost, the opportunity to join The National Theatre presented itself to me on graduating.
