    SELF PORTRAIT PRIZE, 2021

Lucy Jones'  Being 66, Being (2021) was selected as the winner of the 2021 Self Portrait Prize.

“‘Being 66, Being’ gives a nod to old age. Thinking about being 66 led me to thinking about existing, living, being alive.” says Jones.

The panel of judges in 2021 included the BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz, the Director of the Science Museum Sir Ian Blatchford, High Court Judge Mrs Justice Cheema Grubb, renowned gallerist Victoria Miro, the 2019 Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize winner David Dawson and Ruth Borchard’s son Richard Borchard.
